How to use LaTex (MathJax) within H5P

A couple of weeks ago, in one of the Matrix channels of the H5P community, Kelly asked us about our favourite features or hidden gems in H5P. One of our H5P Ambassador fellows mentioned he found it really useful being able to use LaTex within H5P. I recalled that about 2021, already being Pedagogical Engineer for EDUC I got that question from a colleague in Rennes: “Hey Gio, does it possible to use LaTex within H5P, a teacher just asked me”. I had no idea at that time, so I needed to research on it and as its outcome I created a very short tutorial as an H5P interactive book for that teacher, and with our IT Experts we configured EDUC Learning (based on Moodle) to support MathJax.
Then, I decided to have a look into that tutorial and noticed that some things need to be updated. So, it took me a while to find some free time to make it, but I hope this can be of help for some of you. If you have not heard about LaTex, or the only thing you know, it is that it is not for you because you don’t teach in the STEM field, you might be interested to check this interactive book anyway, because there are some “hacks” that could be quite useful for some of your interactive learning materials, independent of which discipline you teach.
If you discovered more hacks or interesting uses of LaTex/MathJax in H5P, do not hesitate to comment below, and I might add it to the interactive book. Constructive feedback on how to improve this content is always welcome. Feel free to download, remix and reuse it!
